This week, I made a felt set to use with the nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle." I will be using it at the Stuffed Animal Sleepovers I'm having at all four of my branch libraries.
I used a combination of clipart (Microsoft Office) and coloring sheets for the patterns. I had to scrap a cat and a moon along the way. The outlining didn't work on my first cat. For the first moon, I tried yellow with silver paint. It might have looked okay if the yellow had been paler.
Your pieces turned out great, especially the moon. I can't wait to do a stuffed animal sleepover of my own; sounds like a really fun time!

ReplyDeleteSorry about my previous post. The word verification somehow got attached to my post and it was hard to read. :-(
ReplyDeleteHere it is in readable format:
I love your pieces! They make me smile just looking at them. :-) As I said before, I adnire anyone who can do a good job with puffy paint. You did a great job! Btw, thanks for sharing your mess-ups ~ it just might give me the couarge to try puffy paint again. ;-) LOL
It's helpful to me too, when people tell what DIDN'T work, as well as what did. I've been findign that flannelization is a great way to share nursery rhymes. Nice set!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting what works and what doesn't. I do like your new moon, though. :)
ReplyDeleteMollie Kay, Storytime fun, EricaS, and Leah: thank you all for taking the time to comment on my post. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond.
ReplyDeleteI like sharing the mistakes I've made because no one is perfect. I have fun making felt sets even if I do mess up.
