#FlannelFriday: Hey Diddle Diddle

This week, I made a felt set to use with the nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle." I will be using it at the Stuffed Animal Sleepovers I'm having at all four of my branch libraries.

I used a combination of clipart (Microsoft Office) and coloring sheets for the patterns. I had to scrap a cat and a moon along the way. The outlining didn't work on my first cat. For the first moon, I tried yellow with silver paint. It might have looked okay if the yellow had been paler.

  1. Your pieces turned out great, especially the moon. I can't wait to do a stuffed animal sleepover of my own; sounds like a really fun time!

  4. It's helpful to me too, when people tell what DIDN'T work, as well as what did. I've been findign that flannelization is a great way to share nursery rhymes. Nice set!

  6. Mollie Kay, Storytime fun, EricaS, and Leah: thank you all for taking the time to comment on my post. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond.

I like sharing the mistakes I've made because no one is perfect. I have fun making felt sets even if I do mess up.
